Teach Your Dog a Trade Cue
A trade cue is a very important skill to teach any dog. It is similar to leave it, but different enough that it requires it’s own training – and different enough that you will want to use them in different ways.
A trade is something you will want to have on hand for those times when your dog has something you don’t want them to have and you need to trade them for it.
Instead of teaching your dog “leave it,” a trade cue will teach them to not pick up the item anymore, because they will associate leaving it alone with positive reinforcements.
