Cats instinctively prefer running water sources, and who can blame them since out in the wild standing water can harbor all sorts of disease and infestation. 

​The desire to seek a running water source is ingrained in your cat. And really, if we were living outside we would seek a water supply that wasn't stagnant too!

In addition to still water bowls, add at least one water fountain for your kitty. I'm sure she'll love you for it!

I prefer the stainless or porcelain fountains (and still water bowls too) ... here is the one I'm currently using in my own home:

Keeping multiple water sources in your home is best, and make sure that water sources are kept away from food and litter box areas.

Cats are very clean and will not drink next to food or litter. In fact, keep both food and water as far away from litter boxes as you possibly can.
